This is about as clean and accurate of an audience recording that I am capable of making with my equipment. I think it came out fantastic. Bear with me the first minute or so because I wasn't taping sound check and was doing initial levels on the fly, and house music doesn't really help you get there. But after that, we settle into a nice recording groove.
I would have run a matrix with the permission of the band that they gave, but I don't carry around 50'+ of extra XLR's. But you should!
Fun family show on a Saturday evening during an art festival with incredible weather and a metric ton of kids playing/dancing/kicking balls/doing kids stufz.
Rig only got hit once by a soccer ball, and a bunch of kids' somersaults. I had shock mounts so not really noticeable other than my blood pressure- absolutely terrifying as a taper.
Thanks to the band for the performance and the individual chats. They really are just very cool people who put a big smile on your face. After the show a bunch of kids came up to Julie with torn off pizza paper plates asking for her autograph. Very cute.
The Sweet Lilies are:
Julie Gussaroff - Upright bass and vocals;
Becca Bisque - Viola, vocals, and washboard;
Dustin Rohleder - Acoustic guitar and vocals; and
Jones Maynard - Drums.
You can check out where to find them in your town, and/or get some of their music if you can't be at a show, here: https://www.sweetlillies.com/home/#tour
Thanks to Phill Chappelle (sp?) for great FOH sound.

N.B. my last TSL show was in 2018 at VBC, and before that, Agave in support of Jeff Austin Band (RIP, I miss him so much) in 2016. That was a ripper. TSL has changed their sound quite a bit since those days, so be open for a new musical approach.
